road trip 2011 houton to LA

Here we have another not 100% photography related post, but you would agree with me that our creative minds need and take inspiration from many sources. As much as I love to look at other peoples photographic work, I love to read books, watch movies and most importantly listen to music. Music is such a fantastically emotional medium and art-form. It can capture you so unexpectedly like a sneak attack or just carry you on its wings from beginning to end.

Normally I listen to a lot of music and I do that while working, while working out, driving and so on. A few years a go I stopped listening to radio as at least in our area I do not find any kind of station that I can listen to more than 5 minutes. So I rely on my music-player of choice and by now its my iPhone paired with spotify. The sheer ease of use and instant availability to such a huge catalog of songs makes it an absolute must have for me. As for my CDs and MP3s, I need to re-digitise a lot of them and re-organise them too, so that will be some time.

When my buddy Jan Gleitsmann asked me to join in to post our top 10 driving songs, I jumped right at it, as it really wasn’t any work. I love to discover new music, and my taste in music is quite broad, but I am also a big fan of my some songs and a creature of habit to an extend. As you know I love cars, I love driving and there is not a better way to travel than on a roadtrip. No matter how long or short though, I will most certainly have the following songs with me. They are a good mix of my alltime favourites paired with some new discoveries. From fastpace Metal songs, to slow Jazz ballads. Everything to pump you up when you need to stay awake a few more hours to songs to calm you down when there is just maniacs on the road.

We limit this to a top 10, but I will most certainly do another post about my favourite music and maybe in regard to shooting and editing my work.

Also a lot of german car blogger are participating in this, make sure to check their posts out too,  there might be some great tracks in there.
